Study Program

Our curriculum covers a two-year period and is offered in both Spanish and English.  The institute begins the third week of February and ends the first week of November, with a one month recess in June.

Classes are held four days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  During those four days, only one course is taught at a time.  This enables us to have a variety of teachers from different countries instead of having a small group of resident teachers for an entire semester.  This method also allows the students to concentrate on one subject at a time instead of constantly switching the focus of their studies.  Of course, longer courses are taught over a period of two or three weeks.

Another advantage of inviting teachers to share for a week or two at a time, rather than having a resident teaching staff, is that HMI can choose the teacher for the course instead of choosing the course for the teacher.  When a Bible institute has resident teachers, those teachers are sometimes assigned courses that they may have never studied before themselves.

HMI has the advantage of being able to invite ministers who, through years of prayerful study, have become “experts” in the course that they will be teaching.  These men have a message burning in their hearts that they can impart to the students with fervor and revelation, instead of merely sharing information that comes from their intellect.  The students can discern the difference!  Courses taught by those who have focused on their specific subject tend to be fresh and full of life both for the teacher and the students.

DIFFERENT EXTENSIONS OF THE INSTITUTE

Apart from the Ministerial Institutes located in the city of Guatemala and Virginia, U.S.A., Hebron also has different extensions of the institute in other parts of the world.  These extensions offer the same courses as the institute in Guatemala; they are taught by video or DVD.
